Jessica Wimer
Associate Law Librarian for Public Services

What excites you most about joining the UCI Law School?
It is fantastic being part of such an enthusiastic group of people who are creating a law school that is truly exceptional. I am most excited about working with the law school faculty, staff, and students, to come up with innovative ways to accomplish the school’s mission.

What inspired you to go to law school?
Like many of my colleagues and former classmates, I went to law school because I wanted to make a difference and have a positive impact on society. In the end, I decided that practicing law was not the only way to do this. I am lucky that my work at the Law School provides me with plenty of opportunities to add to a community that is working to make a positive change in the world of legal education.

What would you like to accomplish during the first years at UCI Law?
There are so many ways law libraries can work with students, staff, and faculty, and I am a part of a group dedicated to creating a library that is a vital part of the law school community. The role libraries play and the services that they offer are going through a significant transition at this point in time, so now is an exciting time to help "build" a library from the ground up. I am excited to be a part of a team that is responsible for making decisions that really impact the face of the Library and sets the tone for now and in the future.
