Donna Suchy

Donna Suchy is responsible for developing and implementing IP corporate strategy, licensing, litigation, due diligence, and advising corporate management on the legal and operational implications of IP laws. She has extensive experience in patent and trademark prosecution and related litigation and transactional work.  Donna was formerly with Eastman Kodak where she was both an inventor and Corporate IP Counsel for the Commercial Business.  She has worked in a wide range of technical and legal areas including electrical, chemical, software, computer technology and optics, as well as in energy and media law.  Prior to practicing law Donna was involved in the energy and environmental fields as an engineer for an energy company and a regional bank where she was in charge of asset evaluations for multimillion-dollar portfolios.  She is a registered engineer in Texas and Oklahoma and has written and lectured on legal topics related primarily to patent prosecution, corporate transactions, IP valuations, and intellectual property law. 

Ms. Suchy is the author and editor of IP Valuation Primer (ABA Press, 2008) and the editor of Protecting IP in China (ABA Press, 2015).  She teaches local classes on IP issues, having taught classes in law and IP in Rochester, New York (RIT) and Iowa (University of Iowa and Iowa State University).  She has also written numerous articles on IP topics. Donna is currently Chair of the ABA section of intellectual property (ABA IPL) and a member of the bar in Oklahoma, New York and Iowa.
