Background:

Steven J. Nataupsky is the Managing Partner of Knobbe Martens. With over 300 lawyers and patent scientists, Knobbe Martens is one of the nation’s largest law firms focusing on intellectual property and technology law. His practice includes all aspects of IP, including protecting his client’s inventions, trademarks, domain names, copyrights, and trade secrets, and enforcing those rights against infringers. He has obtained numerous patents and trademark registrations for clients in the medical device, food and beverage, and other industries, and has tried cases to eight-figure jury verdicts in favor of his clients.

Mr. Nataupsky graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University with a B.S. Engineering Sciences and a minor in Engineering Management. He obtained his law degree from New York University School of Law. He serves as an adjunct professor of Intellectual Property Law at University of California, School of Law and also has served as an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Law and Whitter School of Law. He also teaches IP courses at University of California, Irvine, Department of Continuing Education and Santa Ana College. Mr. Nataupsky is the co-author of Protecting your Athlete’s Intellectual Property Rights in the leading treatise for sports law practitioners: Law of Professional and Amateur Sports (Thomson Reuters Publications, 2021-2007).
