Enlisted United States Navy November 1965; assigned to Seabees (construction) and achieved rank of Equipment Operator 2nd Class (operated bulldozers, etc in the construction of roads, air strips, and bridges), two tours (18 months) in Vietnam 1967-1969, awarded Navy Achievement Medal with Combat “V” (after 1st attack, assisted corpsman in treating wounded, after 2nd attack, retrieved wounded and dead for helicopter evacuation), honorably discharged 1969.
