Korea Law Center
Exchange Programs

The Korea Law Center in Irvine will operate in partnership with law schools at Seoul National University and Sogang University in Seoul. Three categories of visitors, both Korean and American, will participate:

  • Visiting Scholars. Established scholars from Korean and American law schools or colleges will come to the Korea Law Center to do research, teach and/or learn about U.S.-Korea level issues, often in collaboration with a member of the UC Irvine law faculty. Visiting Scholars also include other non-legal professionals such as business executives or government officials.
  • Visiting Jurists. Members of the legal profession will spend time at the Korea Law Center to conduct specific research, teach and/or learn about U.S.-Korea law matters in a particular field related to their work.
A Jurist-in-Residence Program provides Korean legal and business professionals and government officers with an opportunity to design an independent study/research program and establish a foundation in U.S.-Korea law over one (1) or two (2) semesters at the UC Irvine School of Law on a non-credit basis. The program is fully enrolled for the 2011-2012 academic year. Applications are NOT currently being accepted. Click here for details.
  • Visiting Researchers. Graduate-level law students will spend time at the Korea Law Center to work on dissertations or conduct research on topics in U.S.-Korea law.
