October 15 is the first date that law school career offices can meet with 1L students about employment. December 1 is the first date 1L students are permitted to apply to or speak to employers about jobs. These are nationwide dates, so every law student is on the same timetable to begin the career search.  The Career Development Office (CDO) will be holding a mandatory meeting for 1L students on Tuesday, October 15 from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. in EDU 1111. Lunch will be provided. A great wealth of helpful and comprehensive information will be covered. The CDO staff is eager to work closely with each of you. Personalized help is our model; the better we know you, the more we can assist you. We will see you all on October 15!

FREE MPRE Exam Review with Dean Chemerinsky (2Ls/3Ls),
EDU 1111
UCI School of Law is once again pleased to hold a special 3 ½ hour MPRE exam preparation course. The course is designed for students taking the  November 2, 2013  MPRE exam.  Passing the MPRE is necessary for admission to most state bars, including California.  It can be taken after the first year of law school. Dean Erwin Chemerinsky will teach the course, which is free to all students.  Room capacity is limited.  Please RSVP to Debbie Mondares at dmondares@law.uci.edu by Thursday, October 10.  Since we open this review to students from other OC law schools, it is important to reserve your seat early (we do block off a number of seats for UCI Law students).

Monday, October 28, 3:30pm - 4:30pm
ABA Site Team Visit: Student Meeting

All students are invited; if your time is limited please drop by for a few minutes or if you can stay the whole hour, please do.  (We know that 1Ls are in class for part of the meeting.  Please come by once class is over!)  Please mark your calendars now for this important meeting.  RSVPs are not necessary, but we do hope there is a good turn-out.  Cookies, brownies, and coffee will be served.

These loans are private education loans for which third-year students may be eligible. Lenders will often allow up to six months of forbearance or interest-only payments. Information about interest rates, origination fees and repayment options are available at this site.
