Our founding faculty has developed a cutting-edge curriculum that ensures students receive an education comparable to or exceeding that found at any top-20 law school and that also addresses the growing demands of the profession. We hope you will choose to join us in this pioneering effort to redefine legal education and build a model law school for the 21st century.
While we will enjoy an extaordinary faculty-student ratio given the small class size of about 60 students, we also intend to build the school to ensure at least one very small class for all future students during their formative first year of law school, and experiential learning opportunities every year of law school.

“Starting a new law school gives
us a chance to focus on more creative, humane, direct, party-empowering ways to solve legal, social, political and economic problems, and to teach lawyers new skills sets—how to facilitate democratic decision making, run effective meetings, bring financial and physical resources from varying sources to the table for partnerships for problem solving and creation of new transactions, organizations and entities. ‘Cases’ are important, but ‘problems’ or ‘opportunities’ are what lawyers deal with every day. We should be able to teach lawyers to provide professional services to work on all three.”

“The traditional first-year
legal writing course will be reoriented as a course on lawyering skills. To pick one example, part of the course should teach fact investigation, a crucial skill that is all too often ignored in law schools. Also, I have proposed that the faculty develop a two-week course at the beginning of the second semester where students take a class on contract drafting or negotiation or trial practice so that skills training is part of the first year. The upper-level curriculum will include skills classes that prepare students for the top level of practice in areas such as business law, intellectual property and litigation.”
